Description
Such a sad face on this face! Mascarons are masks found on buildings that are meant to ward off evil spirits. They are often grotesque and scary looking mythical creatures. This little fella is on the North Portal of the Cathedral in Strasbourg, France. They are often mistaken for Gargoyles - Gargoyles usually feature a spout in their mouth and were used to drain water away from the building.
